ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Welcome to
Kulan Village!

Our Name
Kulan is translated from Somali to mean gathering. This is our village; this is our gathering place.

Our Story
In 2016, three homeschool moms, strangers to one another, were individually longing to find supplemental homeschool classes and a community that celebrated our culture and heritage. We found each other...and other families longing to see a co-op about us and for us. We‘ve been hard at work building a safe, collaborative learning environment for Black homeschooling families to explore and embrace our heritage and identity across the Diaspora through educational resources, cultural enrichment programming and community. As a result, we launched our pilot program in the spring of 2017.
